LOCATION
The southern Caribbean part of Costa Rica is the least explored area of coastal primary forest in Costa Rica.
The area is a world escape thanks to its unique flora.

Project location
The unique location of the project will bring many advantages...
On the land of the project, it is possible to use the construction facilities of the Nature observatorio a
Oceanviewjunglehouse The years of experience of our team can be used for orientation in the area, help and support of all kinds of projects. We have been working with the Naso Teribe tribe for almost 14 years. We have been using their help and knowledge for many years and have obtained a lot of unique information. Our collaborators from the Naso Teribe tribe are able to provide any assistance in the most demanding field work.
About our forest
The forest currently consists of 40 hectares of primary forest and the most distant 24 hectares of secondary forest.
The primary forest with its research base right in its heart is the perfect place for field research with comfortable facilities.
Secondary forest can be used to research the impact of climate change, to compare measurements between areas, to study species in a given area.
Our goal is to explore this unexplored area, to support the protection of such a unique forest. The project is located in the Manzanillo-Gandoca Reserve, right in the heart of the reserve. The nearby Baziny and the reptile area add incredible species diversity to the forest.
This area is vitally important for many species that are losing their habitat despite the efforts of the Costa Rican authorities and the fact that we are in a protected reserve. The constant approximation of construction led us to the idea of making visible this minimally explored and unique part of Costa Rica and obtaining funds for the purchase and subsequent protection of the local forest against construction and especially deforestation. Deforestation takes place daily directly in the reserve with a legally issued permit. Therefore, it may seem to some why to protect and buy an already protected forest for protection. The answer is simple, if we do not physically protect the forest, there will be no primary forest left. They also hang out illegally in the forests of other owners without their knowledge.
We have the possibility to physically control the forest thanks to the constant presence of team members, some of our founders lived directly on the lands closely adjacent to the project. One of the main goals: to buy the surrounding forests for further protection and research and to create a unique reserve with a real research program and active forest protection. We want to make this unique area visible to the world, which is a treasure of Costa Rica and still does not receive adequate attention. But this is a great opportunity for you to participate in our joint project.

..a constantly expanding database of identified species (I will probably use tables for those species, or
some kind of plugin for a species overview, it can also be with frequency of sightings, date, size, associated photo.,
simply the table is probably fixed and uneditable)
